WALKING for Prostate Health!

Going for walks or engaging in any aerobic exercise three times a week has been shown to have significant benefits to maintain a healthy prostate. A recent study from Harvard University showed that men with prostate cancer who walked 3 hours/week were 57% less likely to have their cancer progress compared to those who walked less often.

Another study found that engaging in physical activity such as walking, could help reduce a man’s risk of developing benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). BPH in simplistic terms means the enlargement of the prostate. More specifically, researchers found that men who exercised 5+ hours/week (just under 1 hour a day) were 30-50% less likely to develop BPH, compared to those who exercised less than 2 hours/week.

MORAL OF THE STORY GENTLEMEN! A man with prostate issues has an elevation in hormone levels in the blood. This can ultimately lead to prostate issues. Being active and going for walks can help stabilize your hormone levels and keep your prostate healthy!
