Iron Infusions

ABOUT

Iron Infusions

Iron deficiency commonly impacts energy, concentration, mood, and overall quality of life, triggering symptoms like fatigue, weakness, shortness of breath, dizziness, headaches, restless legs, and hair shedding. When oral supplements are insufficient or poorly tolerated, iron infusion therapy offers a fast and efficient alternative by delivering iron directly into the bloodstream and bypassing the digestive system. This rapid replenishment helps restore healthy iron levels, ultimately improving physical stamina and focus over time. Our clinic supports this process by providing comprehensive assessments by reviewing your medical history, symptoms, and blood work to design a safe, personalized, and professionally administered treatment plan in a comfortable environment.

BEFORE YOUR IRON INFUSION

Before your iron infusion, a KIH healthcare provider will review your medical history, symptoms, and recent blood work to ensure treatment is safe and appropriate. New patients or those new to iron infusion therapy require a 30-minute assessment with an IV Therapy Practitioner, including a health history review, brief physical exam, and lab review.

Infusions are administered under professional supervision in a comfortable clinical setting, with monitoring throughout treatment. While most patients tolerate iron infusions well, mild temporary side effects such as headache, nausea, dizziness, flushing, or injection-site discomfort may occur.

For best results, eat a light meal and stay well hydrated before your appointment.

Important things to know about your iron infusion

Iron infusions require a physician or nurse practitioner referral and recent laboratory testing confirming iron deficiency. Our team will review the required documentation before treatment and discuss any questions you may have about the infusion process.

Following your assessment, the length of your iron infusion appointment will depend on the type and dose of iron selected. Most iron infusion treatments take approximately 60–90 minutes to complete.

Please bring or ensure we have access to your recent blood work and referral before your appointment. If you are unsure whether you have the required documentation, our team can help guide you through the next steps.

NOTE: Please eat a light meal or snack and drink plenty of water before your appointment.
